The Name Game

January 23, 2011

Have you ever played the game where you have to choose one word to describe yourself? And not only that, but the word you choose has to start with the first letter of your first name? For example, someone named Susie might choose Silly Susie while someone named Wilson may choose Wonderful Wilson.

This game is an ice breaker, giving people an opportunity to get a brief glimpse of others. No one ever chooses their worst quality (e.g., Sinful Sam or Annoying Anna). Instead, people choose their best quality or even a quality they wish they exuded, such as Beautiful Betty or Loving Laura.

This makes me curious. If you had to choose two words to describe yourself rather than just one, and if one of these words could describe something positive about yourself while the other word left something to be desired, what would those two words be?

Word of the Week: Describe

Word to the Wise:  “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God…”  1 John 3:1

Disclaimer:  Keep it G-rated. No reason to get scandalous..even if your name starts with an “S.”
